Switching Your Skin Care for Autumn

Written By: Erika Hazel aka Bizerkeley Vegan

The days are getting shorter, colder, and the air is dryer! The lack of humidity like during the summer days and now we have rain and overcast days to look forward to. Soon we will be blasting the heat in our cars, our homes, and at work too!  Skin care during autumn will be different from our summer days!  So here are two ways to combat dry skin from October to March!

Suggestion number one; vitamin c.  RealSimple.com suggests upping your vitamin C topically on your skin.  And might we add that adding more vitamin C into your diet can be a good idea during cold and flu season as well; potatoes, apples, brussels sprouts, butternut squash and many citrus fruits too!

Suggestion number two: a humidifier.

Many skincare experts suggest that in the fall and winter to sleep in a room with a humidifier.  As we talked about before, the dry air that comes in fall and winter can dry us out!  It's super important to continue to maintain moisture throughout these dry days for our skin and it also benefits our respiratory systems too!  According to Medical News Today, Adding humidity to the air can get more moisture into the airways and help lubricate their airways.  Overall, here are a few ways that we can support our skin and health during the cold weather days.
